KUCHING, June 2: Two individuals were injured in a five-vehicle collision at the Jambatan Sungai Mamat along Jalan Serian-Kuching last night (June 1).
According to Serian Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) operations commander Christopher Tungoh, the department received an emergency call at 9.41pm and deployed seven personnel to the scene.
“Upon arrival, the team found that the accident involved a Toyota Hilux, a van, a Perodua Axia, a Perodua Myvi, and a Perodua Alza,” he said in a statement today, as reported by TVS.
He added that the male driver of the Toyota Hilux sustained injuries and was taken to Serian Hospital by members of the public before firefighters arrived.
Another victim, a woman driving the Perodua Axia, was also injured and transported to the same hospital by the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) unit.
No other injuries were reported, and no rescue operations were needed.
The fire department only conducted clean-up work to clear debris from the road. — DayakDaily
