Two injured in accident at Bau Palm Oil Mill junction

LUNDU, Dec 1: Two individuals sustained injuries after their four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle veered off the road and landed in a ditch near the Bau Palm Oil Mill (BAPOM) junction in Lundu here today.

According to a report by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), they received a call regarding the incident at 2.13pm before dispatching a team from Lundu Fire Station to the scene.

“Upon arrival, they found the male driver, aged 21, experiencing breathing difficulties while seated in the driver’s seat.

“Meanwhile, the female passenger, aged 22, sustained minor injuries.

“Both were not trapped in the vehicle,” the report said.

Bomba personnel used a stretcher to safely extract the driver before he was transported to the hospital via an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle.

The female passenger was handed over to the Health Ministry team (KKM) for further medical attention at the hospital. — DayakDaily
