Two families relocated after homes hit by flood in Balai Ringin

SERIAN, Jan 31: Two familes from Kampung Melayu, Balai Ringin, were relocated to a temporary flood relief centre after their homes were flooded today.

State Disaster Management Committee secretariat chief, Maj Ismail Mahedi from the Civil Defece Force, said recent heavy downpour in the Balai Ringin area caused an overflow from the nearby river into the low-lying areas.

“A total of nine people from two families, comprising of four adult (two male, two female), four children (two boys, two girls) and one senior citizen were relocated to a temporary relocation centre located at the Kampung Melayu, Balai Ringin Hall,” he said in a statement.
