KUCHING, Sept 11: Two company directors remanded for two days in connection with a RM800 million road construction project are ordered to be further remanded by the Magistrate’s Court for another two days until Sept 13.
The duo were remanded by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to facilitate investigation in connection with the RM800 million Jiwa Murni programme.
They were held under remand by the MACC since their arrest on Sept 8. Their two-day remand expired today.
The said project is under the Defence Ministry “Jiwa Murni” programme which involved the upgrading of 10 rural roads in Miri, Ba’Kelalan, Limbang, Kapit and Belaga.
According to a statement by MACC, the roads built under the project by companies of these two directors were not in accordance with the Public Works Department’s standards.
