KUCHING, Oct 28: Toastmaster World Public Speaking Champion Mark Hunter will be featured in a special segment titled ‘A Chat with Mark Hunter’ in a virtual international meeting organised by the Kuching Toastmasters Club this Saturday (Oct 30) from 2pm to 4pm.
Kuching Toastmaster Club president Hubert Poh, in inviting members of the public to participate in this workshop, said he strongly believed that insight from one of the best will further enhance the skills of speakers, be they novices or seasoned presenters.
“It is not very often that we have the opportunity to tap into the thoughts and intellect of such a renowned speaker,” he said in a statement today.
As a widely travelled coach, speaker, educator, a recipient of the Presidential Citation and three-time finalist before he won the coveted World Public Speaking Champion Award, Hunter will share with an international audience his rather unusual approach to leadership, communication and public speaking in general.
While he does not profess to have any “special way” in writing and presenting a winning speech, he will nonetheless put forward some of his thoughts for the audience to ponder while embarking on a speech project.
Following the session on speaking, Hunter will conduct a further session on evaluating speeches, giving feedback to a demonstration speaker.
The afternoon will end with an international debate featuring speakers from Burma, Indonesia, Brunei, West Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak.
The two-hour workshop will be hosted by communication consultant and broadcaster Mike Lim. Interested parties can contact the Workshop Moderator Sahil Singh at +6012-889 1004 or Hubert Poh at +6019-817 8870.
