KUCHING, Nov 9: Aspiring young leaders participating in The Sarawak Initiatives (TSI) Leadership Programme have been invited to submit their community outreach project proposals.
TSI is committed to helping participants realise the potential of their community-led projects by providing the necessary guidance and assistance, as part of its 10-step programme in grooming future leaders that can create a positive impact on society.
TSI had attracted some 500 aspiring youth leaders in its leadership programme, which touched on various topics since the first series of its conference in July.
With the enthusiasm expressed by aspiring leaders, TSI would like to move another step forward to provide a more comprehensive hands-on leadership programme for them to embark on a personal development exercise.
Each week, the organisation selected and invited 15 participants for a small group online discussion via Zoom. Each 90-minute session focused on its core topic ‘Aspiring Leaders and Great Leadership’.
“We have conducted three sessions and as we take steps to provide opportunity to young participants to gain knowledge and leadership skills.
“We look to the experienced participants, together with TSI, to provide the necessary support to them. TSI provides the platform for their personal leadership development,” it said in a statement.
TSI added that attending the lectures was the first step of its leadership programme, while the more intimate, comprehensive Zoom discussion was the second step.
“TSI will not just stop here, so we wish to take the third step with you and ask for your vision and aspirations that you wish to put into action. We are happy to make your dreams come true by putting a team to help you lead to organise the event of your choice, may it be in welfare, charity, culture, environment, arts, music, debate, storytelling, changing mindset or whatever your mind may take you, as long as it will have a positive impact on our community.
“TSI would therefore like to hear your proposal and would like to arrange a Zoom discussion with you together with our committee members when you are ready,” TSI said.
TSI will provide support and training and mentorship to get the participants ready for each step of the training. — DayakDaily
