KUCHING, June 12: Tropical Storm Wutip, currently active over the northern South China Sea, is expected to reduce rainfall across much of Malaysia in the coming days, potentially causing daily maximum temperatures to soar to between 35°C and 37°C.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said the storm is moving northwest towards Hainan Island, China, and may lead to significantly drier conditions throughout the country. This situation is forecast to persist for several days before improving.

“Based on weather model analysis, conditions are expected to become more humid once the tropical storm weakens from June 15, 2025,” the department said in a statement issued today.
