KUCHING, March 21: Malaysian Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, has called for strong collaboration among government agencies, tourism players, and private sector stakeholders to ensure the success of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026).

“The close cooperation between the federal government, state governments, and the private sector—especially representatives from government agencies, tourism associations, airlines, hotel operators, tourism product providers, and local travel agents—is the key to the success of this programme.

“We must ensure that every sector operates at a high standard; from improving service quality to ensuring safety and visitor satisfaction, all these aspects will play a major role in advancing the country’s tourism industry,” he said in a Facebook post last night (March 20).

He further acknowledged the commitment of Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf Yusoh and State Exco for Tourism, Heritage, Arts, and Culture Dato Wira Abdul Razak Abdul Rahman in supporting tourism development efforts.

“With the right partnerships and a shared vision, we can elevate Malaysia to new heights in the global tourism landscape,” he added.

Describing VM2026 as more than just a campaign, Tiong positioned it as a national mission aimed at setting new industry standards through innovation, sustainability, and strategic cooperation.

He called on all stakeholders to work together in creating a world-class tourism experience that would benefit both visitors and the Malaysian economy. – DayakDaily
