KUCHING, March 31: Hari Raya Aidilfitri is more than just a celebration as it is also a reflection of the beauty of Malaysia’s unique cultural and artistic heritage.
In his Aidilfitri message posted on Facebook, Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture Dato Seri Tiong King Sing said that this can be seen through the long-practised tradition of visiting one another, along with the variety of food and the beauty of traditional clothes which reflect the richness of the country’s art and heritage that is a tourist attraction.
At the same time, Tiong, who is also Bintulu MP and Dudong assemblyman, said that Aidilfitri is a time to strengthen bonds with each other, forgive all mistakes, and sow new hope for a more harmonious future.
“For those returning to their hometowns, celebrating abroad, or wherever, I hope that an atmosphere of joy and peace always accompanies every step.
“Take advantage of this opportunity to explore the beauty of Malaysia—from traditional villages full of nostalgia to colourful cities with festive cheer. May this Aidilfitri strengthen brotherhood and strengthen unity in our diverse society.
“Let us support efforts together to uphold the country’s artistic heritage, culture, and tourism, which we are all proud of. Aidilfitri is not just a celebration, but a reminder that in diversity, there is unity.
“In forgiveness, there is peace. And in every smile shared, there is hope for a brighter tomorrow,” he said. — DayakDaily
