MIRI, March 5: A woman was amongst five individuals detained by the Miri Narcotics Investigation Department (NCID) this morning in Piasau Utara for alleged involvement in drug abuse.
During the 10.30am raid, police also found and seized a plastic straw tube containing suspected illegal substances believed to be methamphetamine (‘syabu’) worth RM50.
The suspects aged 22, 24, 26, 29 and 32 have also tested positive for drugs.
According to police sources, all suspects were unaware of the police presence in the house as they were high on drugs.
Most of them were in the living room when the police entered the house.
The case is being investigated under Section 12 (2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952. — DayakDaily
