MIRI, July 1: It is time to revive deep-sea fishing activities in Kuala Sibuti to attract local and international anglers, said Sibuti MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni.
“Such activities would also help promote Kuala Sibuti as a fishing destination,” he said during an interview on Thursday (June 30).
The MP also suggested that the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts and other industry players convene to discuss how to entice local and foreign divers to visit the Miri-Sibuti Coral Reefs National Park.
“It is a great diving spot where divers can explore underwater attractions,” he said.
He added that Sibuti has the potential to be a top destination for adventure tourism which could bring things on track in the hospitality industry.
Meanwhile, Lukanisman suggested that the Sarawak government emulate Singapore by hosting performance events, as he believed that the State has the potential to become a tourism destination for arts and entertainment. — DayakDaily
