KUCHING, Feb 15: A 44-year-old man died in a single-vehicle road accident at Jalan Merudum Dam in Belaga last night (Feb 14).
According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), an emergency call about the accident was received at 8.36pm, and firefighters from the Belaga station were deployed.

Upon arrival, the operations commander noted that the accident involved a timber-laden lorry which crashed into the side of the road.
The victim, Muhie Nawan, who was driving the lorry, was believed to have been crushed by the logs.
An excavator was used to move the lorry and logs to extricate the victim, who was later handed over to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
