KUCHING, Feb 15: Senator Abun Sui Anyit is optimistic that AirBorneo can create more job opportunities, especially for the natives of Sarawak.
In a press statement, he said, “If MASwings has ever used Iban phrases like ‘Tabik Basa’, in their announcements when it first took flight here.
“This time, I hope that AirBorneo will not only use the Iban language but also hire employees such as pilots, cabin crew, and ground staff from the Iban and other Dayak communities.
“This is important to prove that Sarawak practices an open multi-racial policy in its governance and is not dominated by a single race.”
He also suggested that job opportunities could be created to provide employment to all ethnic groups in Sarawak and eligible Malaysians.
He further emphasised that opportunities for free higher education should be extended to all eligible Sarawakians, as this would enhance the State’s human resource capabilities and strengthen its aviation sector.
“With the presence of AirBorneo services, the economy of Sarawak can be further boosted, particularly in the tourism sector.
“Making it easier for the people of Sarawak and visitors to move within Sarawak,” Abun said. – DayakDaily
