KUCHING, Feb 25: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for Kuching and various areas in Sarawak this afternoon.
Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting Kuching (Bau and Kuching), Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman (Sri Aman), Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, and Mukah (Tanjung Manis). The warning, issued at 3.55pm today, remains in effect until 6pm.
“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour approaching or expected to last for more than an hour. A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a maximum of six hours per release,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
