Thunderstorms, heavy rain, strong winds expected in Sarawak’s northern, central zones until 9pm tonight

The inclement weather warning released by MetMalaysia.

KUCHING, March 30: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected in the northern and central zone of Sarawak until 9pm tonight.

According to a post by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) at 5.10pm on its Facebook page today, a warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with rain intensity exceeding 20mm/hour that is close or expected to occur for more than an hour.

The areas affected are Lubok Antu in Sri Aman, Selangau in Sibu, Mukah, Song in Kapit, Tatau in Bintulu, Marudi in Miri and Limbang.
