KUCHING, March 30: The Magistrates Court here sentenced a jobless man to a total fine of RM3,500 to the charges of criminal intimidation and causing damage to a victim’s car.

Bahthiar Bolkipli, 31, pleaded guilty to the two charges that were framed before Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali.

Magistrate Syarifah convicted him as charged and sentenced him to a fine of RM1,500 or in default to two months’ imprisonment for the first charge and sentenced him to a fine of RM2,000 or in default to three months’ imprisonment for the second charge.

Bahthiar was found guilty of threatening the victim and damaged the front and back window of the victim’s car near a house in Kampung Sungai Maong, at about 1am on October 5, 2022.

He was charged under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation and under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief act.

According to the brief facts of the case, on Oct 4, Bahthiar and the victim went to a pet shop by using the victim’s car.

Bahthair took four chickens from the pet shop without making any payment and load them unto the victim’s car.

This had led to the pet shop owner posting their video and the image of the victim’s car on Facebook.

Subsequently, the victim contacted Bahthiar to ask him to return the chicken to the shop owner. Bahthair who refused turned up at the victim’s house and started to break the front and back window of the victim’s car by using a sharp object.

At the same time, Bahthiar threatened the victim saying, ‘kalau aku jumpa kau di luar, siap kau aku kerjakan’ (“If I see you again, I will beat you up”) and ran off.
