KUCHING, Feb 10: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected at ten districts throughout Sarawak this afternoon.
Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), in an advisory issued at 2.30pm, said the affected districts are Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Asajaya, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Mukah, Tanjung Manis and Daro.
According to the department, the warning will remain in effect until 5pm.
It also said that a warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with rain intensity greater than 20mm/hour approaching or expected to last for more than one hour.
It added that a thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a maximum of six hours per release. — DayakDaily
