Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds expected across Sarawak until Jan 4

KUCHING, Dec 30: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected across the whole of Sarawak from today until Jan 4, 2020.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department today issued a yellow warning for all divisions across Sarawak.

The department revealed that strong northeasterly winds of 40-50 kmph with wave height of up to 3.5 metres are expected over Sarawak waters until Saturday, 4 January 2020.


This condition of strong winds and rough seas is dangerous for small craft, recreational sea activities and water sports, it warned.

As for today, a few divisions including Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Bintulu and Miri are expected to experience thunderstorms and heavy rain until 6pm today. — DayakDaily
