KUCHING, Feb 19: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for various areas in Sarawak.
Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei (Pakan and Julau), Sibu (Kanowit and Selangau), Kapit (Song and Kapit) and Bintulu (Tatau).
The warning, issued at 9am today, remains in effect until 1pm.
A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour approaching or expected to last for more than an hour.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a maximum of six hours per release. — DayakDaily
