KUCHING, Jan 30: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for Sri Aman, Sarikei, Sibu, Kapit this evening.
Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting Sri Aman (Lubok Antu), Sarikei (Julau), Sibu (Kanowit and Selangau), and Kapit (Song, Kapit, and Bukit Mabong). The warning, issued at 5.10pm today, remains in effect until 9pm.
“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour. A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per release,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
