KUCHING, Sept 12: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued thunderstorm and heavy rain wind alerts for Southern and Central Sarawak.
According to a MetMalaysia Facebook advisory published at 7.15pm, the affected districts include Kuching (Bau), Samarahan, Sri Aman, Sarikei (Pakan Julau and Meradong), Sibu, and Kapit.
According to the department, warnings are issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rain intensity exceeding 20 mm/hour, which is expected to occur for close to or more than an hour.
