KUCHING, Aug 7: Thunderstorms and heavy rain warning has been issued for Sarikei, Sibu and Mukah until 5pm today.
According to an advisory notice released by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) at 2.10pm, the areas affected including Sarikei, Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), and Mukah (Tanjung Manis, Matu, Dalat and Mukah).

A warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour or with the bad weather expected to last for more than an hour.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a maximum of six hours for every release. — DayakDaily
