KUCHING, Nov 19: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected in several districts in Sarawak until 9pm tonight.
A warning was issued at 5.20pm today by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) to Samarahan (Simunjan), Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah (Tanjung Manis and Daro), Bintulu (Tatau), Miri and Limbang.

“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with rain intensity exceeding 20 mm/hour that is close to or expected to occur for more than an hour.
“A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release,” said the department. — DayakDaily
