KUCHING, April 8: Thunderstorm warnings have been issued to northern and central Sarawak by the Malaysia Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) and are expected to last until 6pm today.
According to an advisory notice at 2.40pm today, Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), Mukah (Matu, Dalat, and Mukah), Bintulu, and Miri (Subis) are listed as the areas to be affected.
Based on the Facebook post, the warning is only issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rain intensity exceeding 20mm an hour or with a downpour that is expected to occur for more than an hour.
