Thunderstorm warnings for Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Bintulu until 1pm (Oct 24)

KUCHING, Oct 24: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected in Samarahan (Simunjan), Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), Mukah, and Bintulu (Tatau) until 1pm today.

In a Facebook post at 11am, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) said warnings were issued to the mentioned areas.

“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with an intensity of rain exceeding 20 mm/hour that is close or expected to occur for more than an hour.

“A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single issue.” — DayakDaily
