KUCHING, Oct 17: Thunderstorm warnings have been issued for several areas in Sarawak until 7pm tonight.
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET Malaysia) in a Facebook post at 3.55pm, the areas are:
- Kuching
- Serian
- Samarahan
- Sri Aman
- Betong
- Miri (Marudi)
- Limbang
“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with an intensity of rain exceeding 20 mm/hour that is close or expected to occur for more than an hour.
“A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single issue,” said the department. — DayakDaily
