LAWAS, July 2: A 30-minute thunderstorm and ferocious winds ripped off the entire roof of a house at Kampung Balai, Trusan this afternoon.
According to Lawas Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) station chief Zaki Hussin, the incident happened between 1pm and 1.30pm.
A team of seven firefighters was immediately despatched to the scene.
“After evaluating the house, firefighters advised its owner, 58, and two other female adults that it is not safe for them to continue staying there.
“They are now sheltering with their neighbour,” Zaki revealed in a statement.
Except for property damage, there were no fatalities or injuries reported.
According to the house owner, the house was built in 1999. — DayakDaily
