KUCHING, Sept 7: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued thunderstorm alerts for nine districts in Sarawak, effective until 7pm today.
In an advisory issued at 3.50pm, the affected districts are Sri Aman, Betong, Pusa, Sibu, Mukah, Daro, Matu, Dalat, and Bintulu.

The department warned of heavy rain and strong winds accompanying the adverse weather conditions.
The notice explained that a thunderstorm warning is triggered when rain intensity exceeds 20mm/hour and is expected to persist for more than an hour. Each warning is valid for up to six hours.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions during this period. — DayakDaily
