BAU, Jan 31: A 73-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a three-vehicle collision near Kampung Kranji, Jalan Kuching-Bau today.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak responded to an emergency at 8.02am and immediately deployed a team of firefighters from Bau Station to the location.
Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed that the accident involved a Perodua Viva, a motorcycle and a lorry.
The 73-year-old man was found lying unconscious on the road and was later pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics on-site.
Subsequently, the deceased was handed over to the police for further action.
Firefighters did not conduct a rescue operation as there were no victims trapped in the vehicles. Both the drivers of the Perodua vehicle and the lorry were unharmed.
The operation concluded after firefighters confirmed the safety of the accident scene. — DayakDaily
