SIBU, Feb 16: Three soldiers were arrested for possessing methamphetamine during a police raid at a budget hotel here yesterday afternoon.
Sibu district police chief, ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit confirmed the three suspects, all aged 22, were arrested by personnel from the anti-narcotics department.
While inspecting the room, the police team found a small plastic packet containing 0.7 grammes of methamphetamine on a small table next to the bed.
The drugs were seized by the police.
Stanley also revealed that the trio admitted that they had paid RM150 for the drugs. The police will seek a remand order for the suspects in court tomorrow.
The suspects were detained under Section 12 (2)of the Dangerous Drug Act and Section 15 (1) (a) of the same Act 1952. — DayakDaily
