Three RTP projects worth RM290,000 implemented in Sungai Labi completed

KUCHING, July 18: Three rural transformation programme (RTP) projects worth  RM290,000 implemented in Sungai Labi, Pantu have been completed.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) on July 17, the project, which is implemented under the RTP for the Bukit Begunan constituency, involved upgrading works for a community hall (RM100,000) and Rumah Rose Jipon (RM150,000), including the construction of a gravity-fed water system (RM40,000).

Bukit Begunan assemblyman Datuk Mong Dagang, who was at the projects’ officiating ceremony on Saturday (July 16), said he would focus on improving the schools in his constituency this year.


“I intend to see the children in the Bukit Begunan area get the highest level of education,” he said.

At the same time, Mong also expressed his hopes for SMK Melugu to increase its academic performance in the years to come.

On another note, Mong announced an RTP allocation of RM100,000 to upgrade the community hall’s kitchen, including a minor rural project (MRP) allocation of RM8,000 for Rumah Rose Jipon’s village development and security committee (JKKK) and another RM4,000 for the longhouse Women’s Bureau. — DayakDaily
