The first case was reported at Jalan Miri-Bintulu, involving a pet dog that bit a person.

The second incident occurred at Taman Desa Sejijak Phase 2, Lorong 1A2 in Padawan, also involving a pet dog bite.

The third case involved a stray dog at an oil palm plantation in Kampung Rantau Panjang, Padawan.

“Rabies is still among us. Please stay alert, ensure your pets are vaccinated, and report any stray or aggressive animals to the authorities,” he said during his weekly ShallWeeTalk live session today.

Wee also touched on a recent uptick in shingles cases in the community, particularly among senior citizens.

“I know of a few elderly people affected by shingles. People should consider getting vaccinated to prevent it. Traditional Chinese medicine can also be an option for those affected,” he shared.

With temperatures rising in recent weeks, he further advised the public to adopt healthier habits.

“Avoid fried food, drink more water, and take extra care in this hot weather,” he added. — DayakDaily
