MIRI, July 19: A search and rescue (SAR) operation was mounted by Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) Miri and the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) today find three local fishermen reported missing after their boat capsizednwhile enroute to Kampung Siwak Bakam.
The three fishermen were identified as Zaidi Nawi, Anuar Amin and Junaidi Nyamin.
APM in a report today said, tomorrow’s SAR will start at 8am.
This incident comes after another fishing boat which was also on its way back to Kampung Siwak Bakam waters capsized last night, with one fisherman still missing, while two others were rescued.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a SAR operation was launched yesterday afternoon for a missing man after a boat carrying six people capsized in Sungai Tutoh Hulu Sungai Baram the previous day (July 17). — DayakDaily
