Three injured in three-vehicle collision on Jalan Serian-Simunjan

KUCHING, April 20: A road accident involving three vehicles occurred this afternoon along the Pan Borneo Highway near Bukit Punda, Jalan Serian-Simunjan, leaving three people with minor injuries.

According to a report by Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the incident, which was reported at 4.21pm, involved a Perodua Axia, a Proton Saga, and a 20-tonne lorry.

A team from the Serian Fire and Rescue Station (BBP Serian), led by operations commander Nasihin Jaum, arrived at the scene at 4.55pm, approximately 49 kilometers from the station.

Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed the accident and found that three victims—two men and one woman—had been in the Perodua Axia.

All three had been successfully rescued by members of the public before the Bomba’s arrival.

The occupants of the Proton Saga and the lorry were unharmed.

“One of the injured victims was transported by a Health Ministry ambulance from the Balai Ringin Clinic, while the other two were taken to Serian Hospital by the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) team for further treatment.

“All victims sustained only minor injuries,” Bomba reported.

No rescue operation was necessary at the scene, and once the situation was deemed safe and under control, the Bomba team returned to the station. – DayakDaily
