KUCHING, April 20: In a momentous recognition of his contributions to the engineering and infrastructure development sector, Minister of Works Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi was conferred the prestigious Honorary Fellow Award by The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) during its 66th Annual Dinner & Awards Night 2025 recently.

Describing the award as a “truly meaningful honour,” Nanta expressed deep gratitude to IEM for the recognition.

He was quick to dedicate the accolade not just to himself but to the collective efforts of the Ministry of Works and the broader engineering community.

“This award is not mine alone.

“It is shared with the dedicated team at the Ministry of Works and the entire engineering community, whose unwavering commitment continues to drive Malaysia’s progress and resilience,” he wrote in a Facebook post.

In his message, Nanta reflected on the deeper significance of engineering, calling it “more than just a profession.”

He described it as a calling—one that embraces the mission to build, to innovate, and to improve lives.
