Think twice and check before sharing messages related to Covid-19, says Bintulu rep

Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing

KUCHING, Mar 21: Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing reminded Sarawakians to be well informed, and verify any information with relevant authorities before spreading it.

Tiong in a statement today said much public resources had been spent by the Government to fight the disease and it will all be for nothing if the people did not cooperate and work together to curb the outbreak.

“Fake news is also rampant at this juncture. Sometimes, false information may have been reposted or circulated inadvertently.

“Let me remind the people again to only refer to official information. Do not forward unverified information without checking first to avoid inciting panic and confusion,” he said.

Tiong stressed that the situation would be tougher on everybody if the government was forced to extend the Movement Control Order period past 31st March.

He explained that employers and employees, and all households would suffer the effect and consequences.

“Please. Stay at home and do not spread any fake or unverified information. This is the best we can do for all of us.

“Let us all keep calm now. Do not panic. Let’s work together to fight off the pandemic and safeguard each other’s health and life,” he added. —DayakDaily.
