KUCHING, Aug 2: Local band The Fingerprints has been selected as top four finalists to battle it out at the final of the Kuching Waterfront Jazz Festival (KWJF)’s Jazz Band Search 2019 on Aug 27 at the Riverside Astana Wing.

Band leader Deck Zeke said they will know their fate at the final as the winner will earn a slot at the KWJF 2019 happening on Sept 27 and 28 at the Waterfront Walkway of Grand Margherita Hotel.

“It would be nice to rub shoulders with renowned and reputable jazz bands and artists who will be performing at the festival if we win the competition. That would be a dream come true,” he told DayakDaily.

Apart from them, the other three bands to battle it out at the final are Sang Timur, SL2J and Jazzanova.

“We are working hard and always optimistic. We are making preparation and after a short break now, we are going to practice and rehearse. It is tough not only as the band leader but I am also the music arranger. So we are hoping for the best,” he shared.

Deck added that the band will continue to improve their music as well as creativity.

The Fingerprint will be releasing a cover of a Dayak song tomorrow in their official Facebook page and Youtube channel.
