KUCHING, Sept 15: Thailand and Turkmenistan ambassadors to Malaysia paid courtesy calls to Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at the latter’s office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.
Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, Lada Phumas, paid a courtesy call to Abang Johari in conjunction with his visit to Sarawak to attend the Malaysia Day celebration tomorrow (Sept 16), Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) reported.
The other foreign delegation was led by Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Malaysia, Muhammetnyyaz Mashalov.
Abang Johari also received a courtesy call from National Audit Department Malaysia led by Auditor-General Datuk Wan Suraya Wan Mohd Radzi.
She said among the matters discussed during the meeting was the possibility of the Department to work together with the Sarawak government to improve the skills of financial officers in the public sector.
“Closer cooperation between the National Audit Department and the Sarawak government to strengthen in terms of training for financial officers, about financial management and performance management and other cooperation.
“We will help the State government’s efforts in financial consolidation and so on,” she told Ukas after the meeting.
Abang Johari also received a courtesy call from a delegation led by Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak Datuk Abdul Rahman Sebli together with Registrar of the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak Nixon Kennedy Kumbong. — DayakDaily
