KUCHING, April 29: The Bumiputera Sabah Sarawak Scale-Up Fund (BSSF) is among the key initiatives introduced to strengthen Bumiputera socioeconomic development in Sarawak, reflecting ongoing efforts to enhance access to structured financing and support for Bumiputera entrepreneurs in the State.
The initiative was highlighted by the Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit (Teraju) under the Ministry of Economy, which reaffirmed the federal government’s continued commitment to empowering Bumiputera development through strategic collaboration with the Sarawak government.
According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), this commitment was shared during Teraju’s courtesy visit to the Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, which also served as a platform to exchange views on progress and future direction of Bumiputera development programmes in the State.
Teraju chief executive officer (CEO) Junady Nawawi said the engagement provided an opportunity to share insights and outcomes from the Teraju Aspiration Outreach programme held two weeks earlier.
“Among the key highlights of the programme was the launch of the Bumiputera Sabah Sarawak Scale-Up Fund (BSSF), which offers dedicated and holistic financing support to Bumiputera business enterprises in Sarawak,” he said during a press conference after the courtesy visit at the Satria Pertiwi Complex today.
He added that the meeting also included a review of Bumiputera development achievements from 2012 to 2025, underscoring the ongoing collaborative efforts between the federal government and the Sarawak government in strengthening the Bumiputera entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Teraju further reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing strategic cooperation with the Sarawak government as a key implementing partner, ensuring that the Bumiputera empowerment agenda continues to be implemented in an inclusive and sustainable manner. — DayakDaily
