Initial reports indicated that the victim’s colleagues attempted to evacuate him from the mangrove forest but were forced to stop as they faced exhaustion and challenging ground conditions, prompting them to seek assistance from Bomba.

Upon reaching the site, firefighters worked together with the remaining survey personnel to safely bring the victim out of the mangrove area to the riverbank.

The victim was then transported by boat to the Kampung Tanjung Bako jetty, where he was handed over to ambulance personnel from the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) and subsequently sent to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment. — DayakDaily
