KUCHING, Apr 14: The Unit Peneraju Agenda Bumiputera (TERAJU) has introduced several facilitation initiatives to strengthen the growth and competitiveness of Bumiputera small and medium enterprises (SMEs), namely ASCEND, ENHANCE and XCELERATE.

The initiatives were highlighted during the TERAJU Aspirasi Outreach 2026 programme held at TEGAS Digital Village here on Monday (Apr 13), which brought together local entrepreneurs and industry stakeholders.

In a Facebook post, Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh said the initiatives serve as facilitation programmes designed to help Bumiputera businesses enhance their capabilities and develop into mid-tier companies.

“These initiatives support Bumiputera SMEs in strengthening their business capacity and expanding their market reach,” he said.

During the programme, TERAJU also launched the RM100 million Bumiputera Strategic Support Fund (BSSF) to help SMEs scale up their operations and strengthen their market presence.

The programme was officiated by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan on behalf of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

The outreach also served as a platform to brief entrepreneurs on the PuTERA35 initiative, while aligning with Sarawak’s goal of raising its gross domestic product (GDP) to RM282 billion by 2030 under the Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030). — DayakDaily
