KUCHING, Feb 5: Three main roads in the city will be temporarily closed in conjunction with the Kuching Car Free Morning 2022 Programme on Sunday.
According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) director Mohamed Khaidir Abang said the three roads affected are Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg, Jalan Pearl and Jalan Barrack.
“It will be closed to all vehicles on Sunday (Feb 6) from 6am to 10am for the Kuching Car Free Morning 2022 Programme,” he said in a statement on Feb 4.
The programme aims to help reduce carbon emissions and road congestion, promote a healthy and green lifestyle as well as create environmental awareness and space for interaction and activities for citizens.
Following that, all road users are expected to comply with the instructions on the signboards provided.
