Tekken 7, Mobile Legends tournaments to be held July 30 to Aug 7 during Kuching Festival

KUCHING, July 29: Tekken 7 on the PlayStation 5 and Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) will be the games contested in the coming 2022 Festival Esports Challenge.

The offline tournaments will be organised by Kuching South City Council (MBKS) and Sarawak Esports Association (SESA), in conjunction with the 2022 Kuching Festival Fair.

The MLBB tournament will take place on July 30 and 31 whereas Tekken Offline is scheduled to be held on Aug 6 and 7, both at MBKS Kuching, Padungan, with a total prize pool of RM3,500.

According to SESA media statement on Thursday (July 28), organisers aim to promote the importance of unity through e-sports and to provide the youth in Kuching opportunities to showcase their talents.

One of their objectives is also to educate the youth how to fight addiction in video games through a ā€˜Healthy Gamingā€™ awareness seminar on July 30.

The launching ceremony will be officiated by the Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah tomorrow (July 30).
