KUCHING, Sept 1: Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (Tegas) is partnering with Social Enterprise World Forum (SEWF) 2022 to host Malaysia Community Hub events from Aug to Sept, this year.
Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datu Len Talif Salleh, who is also Tegas chairman, said Tegas are proud to be part of this united effort to promote social entrepreneurship in a collaborative way.
“SEWF Malaysia Community Hub is a great platform to showcase our local social enterprises and promote Sarawak’s digital innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem to the world.
“There will be over thirty Community Hubs around the world during SEWF 2022 and Tegas Digital Village is one of it,” he said in a statement today.
SEWF 2022 is a global event bringing together leaders in social enterprise to help progress the global transition to a new impact economy.
The event provides an opportunity for leaders in social enterprise, including policy makers, community leaders, philanthropists, investors, and academics, to help progress the global transition to a new impact economy.
This year, the main SEWF 2022 hybrid event which will be held on Sept 28 and 29, 2022 in Brisbane, Australia, will focus on themes of indigenous social enterprise, climate solutions, excellence and failure, unusual suspects, policy and systems.
Under the indigenous social enterprise theme, Tegas will be hosting the ‘Community Empowerment through Indigenous Social Enterprises’ fireside chat session on Sept 28, 2022.
The virtual session will be moderated by Tegas Programme and Partnership Executive Hamzah Hamizan, joined by fellow panelists who are local social entrepreneurs, co-founder of The Tuyang Initiative Juvita Tatan Wan, founder of Pungu Borneo Lucille Awen Jon and co-founder of Catama Borneo Catriona Maddocks.
Tegas also recently hosted the Techstars Startup Weekend: Food Security Bintulu programme at TEGAS Digital Innovation Hub Bintulu on August 26-28, in conjunction with SEWF 2022. — DayakDaily
