Teenage girl freed from faulty lift after harrowing 45 minutes

MIRI, Oct 20: It was a claustrophobic 45 minutes for a teenage girl trapped inside a faulty lift at the PGA Battalion 12 camp.

According to Bomba Miri chief Law Poh Kiong, the incident which occurred today around 9am saw the faulty lift stuck on the second floor of Alamanda Block.

A six-man team from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) led by PBK II Sulaiman Julaili was despatched to the location.

Upon arrival, they found the 15-year-old girl, trapped inside the lift.

After sizing up the situation and ascertaining the victim’s condition, Bomba personnel proceeded to force open the lift door using a crowbar.
