Teenage motorcyclist dies after being hit by car in Asajaya

ASAJAYA, Dec 7: A teenage boy was killed in an accident near Kampung Tembirat, Kilometer 13 Jalan Kota Samarahan-Asajaya on Tuesday night (Dec 5).

Kota Samarahan District Police Chief, DSP Brodie Brangka, said during the incident, the victim was riding a motorcycle from Asajaya to Kota Samarahan at around 9.20pm.

He said the victim is believed to have been hit from behind by a car, causing him to be thrown onto the shoulder of the road.


The victim suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics who were also present at the scene.

The victim’s body was then sent to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for further action.

The driver of the car reportedly did not suffer any injuries.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
