MIRI, July 2: A 14-year-old boy was found dead this morning with a plastic bag covering his head at a house in Bakam.

He was found lying on a mattress in his bedroom by his mother with his face inside a plastic bag which had been tied with a nylon rope.

A wristwatch and a note, believed to be written by the deceased, were found in the bedroom.

Prior to the discovery, the deceased’s mother had knocked on his bedroom door but was not answered.

With the help of relatives, the mother broke down the door and were shocked to see the body of deceased.

They immediately alerted the police and Miri Hospital.

Meanwhile, Miri Police Chief ACP Lim Meng Seah when contacted confirmed receiving a report on the case.

Lim said the mother had gone to the deceased’s room to wake him up for school.

Lim also confirmed that the note was written by the deceased himself.

“The note which was written by the deceased himself has asked his family to give the wristwatch to his classmate,” said Lim.

Lim said, the last time the mother saw the deceased alive was on Monday evening at 6pm.

Police has ruled out foul play and the case is being investigated as sudden death.
