Tebedu sees two Covid-19 cases, Kota Samarahan turns yellow

KUCHING, May 9: Tebedu has registered two positive cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) while active cases in Kota Samarahan has dropped to 39.

With the reduction of cases in Kota Samarahan, the district has turned from red zone with more than 41 cases to yellow zone with one to 40 cases.

At the same time, there were also two cases from Kuching which was reported today.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said Sarawak has added four positive cases of Covid-19 today.

“There is an additional two healthcare workers who were tested positive for Covid-19

“Altogether, this has brought the cumulative number of healthcare workers infected with Covid-19 in Sarawak to 68 people.

“Out of the 68 people, 22 patients were from the Kuching Conference cluster while the balance of 48 patients were from smaller clusters,” Uggah who is Deputy Chief Minister said during a press conference on state Covid-19 updates.

He observed that as of today, the cumulative number of positive cases of Covid-19 in Sarawak has increased to 542 cases.

Uggah said there were also 40 cases of person under investigation (PUI) while 20 cases are awaiting laboratory results.

He noted there were 16 patients from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) who have recovered and been discharged from the hospital today.

In the meantime, Covid-19 active cases in Kuching stood at 92.

Kuching is currently the only district in Sarawak which remains at the red zone.

Other than that, 30 districts are in green zone while nine others are in yellow zone.—DayakDaily
