The first runner-up was Team DVETS from the Department of Veterinary Services Sarawak (DVSS), winning the FICORD Deputy Minister’s trophy and RM1,300 prize money.

The second runner-up was Team Whizz from Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (SALCRA), who received the FICORD Permanent Secretary’s trophy and RM1,000 prize money.

All FICORD ICC Convention 2024 winners will qualify for the Sarawak Civil Service Innovation Convention Award (SCSICA) and compete at the next level for the prestigious Sarawak Premier and star rating award for civil services.

Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, the guest of honour and FICORD Minister, presented the awards to all the winners at the hotel tonight.

In his speech before presenting the prizes, Dr Rundi highlighted that the purpose of this programme was to recognise the contribution and service of ministry personnel and agencies who have shown commitment and dedication in implementing their respective ICC projects.

He hoped that organising such a programme would encourage other government officials and staff to continue to commit and improve productivity and work quality.

“The implementation of the ICC Convention at the FICORD level can create a strong, innovative, creative, and far-sighted work culture to improve the quality of work and the effectiveness of the service delivery system of government agencies.

“Through this award, the culture of working in silos will be reduced while services to the people can be delivered more effectively,” he said.

Also present were his deputy, Datuk Martin Ben, Sarawak Deputy State Secretary Datu Hii Chang Kee, and FICORD Permanent Secretary Sirai Daha. — DayakDaily
