Teacher under probe for hitting pupils on the head

MIRI, July 30: Two Primary school pupils had claimed that they had been hit on the back of the head by their Mathematics teacher for not bringing textbook to class on Monday.

One of the victims also claimed that he was slapped by the male teacher.

A police report on the alleged incident has been lodged at Lutong police station in the evening on the same day.

Miri Police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah, when contacted today, has confirmed receiving the report.

“Police is investigating the incident,” he said.

“The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt,” he added.

According to sources, the incident occurred on Monday (July 29) during Mathematics class at a primary school in Tudan here.

Upon returning home, one of the victims told his father about the incident, which led to a police report being filed at Lutong police station.

Both victims are aged 11 year-old.— DayakDaily
